I visited Ranthambore National Park in early January when we were planning for a short trip of two days and searching for a peaceful place which is close to nature. We went there by train from Delhi to Sawai Madhopur and it is so convenient, you will reach there in 6 to 7 hours. (I personally love the train journey a lot, as it provides serenity out of the regular busy life).

Ranthambore National park is just 10 km from Sawai Madhopur station. I was so thrilled as it was my first trip to any National Park, where you get to see animals in their territory. We had already booked our morning safari in cantor (7 am to 10 am) online at www.rajasthanwildlife.in.

Ranthambore is the Land of Tigers, though the sight of them is very uncertain, you must have patience and time as the chances of sighting a tiger are one out of three safaris as it totally depends on King’s mood if he wants to be seen or not and your luck. 😀

I was not lucky enough to sight a tiger, but the uncertainty keeps the excitement alive. (I couldn’t book the second safari because we needed to leave in the evening for Delhi.) But the overall safari was so amazing and peaceful, eternal silence with the melodious sounds of birds. We spotted beautiful peacocks, sambar deer, kingfishers, jungle babble, brown owl, herons, wild boars etc. I wish to visit the Ranthambore next time with at least three safaris to sight a tiger.

After our safari, we decided to go to Ganesha mandir and Fort of Ranthambore, we walked almost 4 to 5 km

The fort is on the hilltop and it feels so refreshing roaming in the heritage of Ranthambore.

So, this was my small trip to the Land of Tigers, I hope to visit it again and spot at least one tiger. 🙂
